What we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number and farm or business name.
  • Seller application answers, including an optional reference and photographs of your operation.
  • Listing content, including animal details and photographs you upload.
  • Enquiries you send or receive through the site.
  • Standard technical data such as IP address and browser type, plus analytics on how pages are used.

Why we collect it

To operate the marketplace: to review breeder applications, publish listings, connect buyers with breeders, and keep records of listings and inquiries. Deposits paid on HogMatch are processed by PayPal, and HogMatch keeps the transaction record (the order, the amount, the animal and the two parties) so that it can support the sale and any refund.

What buyers see

A published listing shows the animal details, the photographs, the farm name and the city and state. Your full address, ZIP code, phone number and email are not published. Your ZIP code is used to confirm your location and for the approximate distance search on the marketplace, which measures between ZIP-code centers; it is never shown in full.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect or store bank account or card details. Card, wallet and PayPal details are entered directly with PayPal and never reach HogMatch.

Age and parental consent

HogMatch accounts, inquiries and payments are for adults aged 18 or over. Show pig programs often involve young exhibitors; a parent or guardian creates the account, sends the questions and pays the deposit on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and if you believe we have, contact us and we will remove it.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data, ask for corrections, or ask us to close your account and remove your listings. Some records are retained where required for tax or legal reasons.
