What is HogMatch?
HogMatch is a marketplace for individual show pigs from approved breeders. It is not an auction, livestock owner, transporter or veterinary service.
How do I find a pig?
Browse available listings and filter by breed, sex, price and state. You can also search by pig, breeder, farm or town.
Can I buy on the website?
Yes. You reserve an available pig by paying the displayed deposit online, which releases contact details both ways. The balance is paid directly to the breeder at pickup, where transportation and paperwork are also arranged.
Are breeders verified?
HogMatch reviews a breeder application before granting listing access, so a breeder is approved rather than verified. Approval is not a guarantee of an animal’s health, quality, suitability or future performance.
How much does it cost to list a pig?
One listing fee covers one animal, with no monthly fee and no package minimum. The current amount is shown on the listing fees page and again before you submit.
How long does a listing stay up?
You choose the duration when you submit, from the options HogMatch currently offers. When a pig sells it leaves the available catalog and is marked sold. Sold and expired listings stay visible for the retention period afterwards, because buyers search them.
Why was my application not approved instantly?
Because a person reads every one. That is the point. HogMatch contacts you at the email on the application if something needs clearing up.
Who arranges pickup and transportation?
The buyer and seller arrange pickup or transportation directly. Confirm timing, cost, route, weather plan and responsibility in writing. HogMatch does not transport animals and does not take responsibility for transport arrangements.
What health paperwork is required?
Requirements depend on the origin, destination and purpose of movement. Interstate swine generally require official identification, and state rules may require additional documents. Confirm the current requirements with the destination state’s animal health official and your veterinarian before travel.
What if the pig is not as described?
Do not complete a purchase until your questions are answered. Report a material concern to HogMatch with the listing URL and supporting information. Sellers agree to accurate descriptions and to disclosing known health issues as a condition of being approved, and the final Terms and dispute process control what happens next.
Do you run auctions?
No. Fixed price or contact the seller. Timed bidding is not part of HogMatch.
Can I list more than one pig?
Yes, as many as you like, but each animal gets its own listing. That is what makes the filters work.
